Only 5 months left until the big event on June 1-3, 2012 - what do you have to contribute - old pictures, stories, and memories of the lodge of yesterday - please share them with the Golden Phoenix committee either in writing (put in folder behind the bar) or send via email to judysmithva@comcast.net or give them to us in person.

Next event will be on January 13th, 6-8pm, Chicken & Pancake Dinner-$6.00 (see flyer in newsletter for more details). We still have Golden Phoenix pins if you haven't gotten one and now have shirts available, short or long sleeve and sweatshirts - please see Barry Cook or Robin Frasier to place your order. With that said, we need more volunteers to help organize and work some of the upcoming events as well as plan some new ones.  Please contact Ken Kennedy, Barry Cook, Charles Carter, Ray Therrien or Diane Reid if you can assist in any of these events or want to be on the 50th anniversary committee.  The committee usually meets on Wednesday night @ 6:30pm in the ballroom.  Look at marquee in social quarters for dates.  Thank You!

MANCHESTER MOOSE LODGE #699

50TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Eleven months to go until the Manchester Moose Lodge #699 three day celebration of 50 years. I am very excited in forming and working with committees on creative activities for this event. We want to represent time travel from then until now. Examples: Music, clothes, prices of items, etc.

Remember this event encompasses all members of our lodge – officers and chairmen of each group, all committees, and staff. Everyone’s participation will assure our success.

From time to time, fund raisers will be happening. Thank you to everyone who participated in the one at the Memorial Day Picnic. Congratulations to Mitch for winning. Another one following the same theme, “Plant a Seed and Watch it Grow”, will be the sale of fresh vegetables. Details to be announced-watch the bulletin board for dates. Other events will be forth coming in the newsletters and on the website.

I will be having a meeting on Wednesday, July 6, 2011@ 7:00pm to discuss more details. If you would like to be included in planning this event, please either let me know or come to the meeting. Come with an open mind to explore out of the box ideas. Look forward to seeing you there.
