Fellow Moose Legionnaires,

PHEW!!!! We are now in August and can only that it is better than July...HOTHOTHOT!!! But the weather is not as hot as your Moose Legion has been. We have accomplished a lot and we will continue this as the months go by. We had out Moose Legion workday on 3 July. Besides getting our pavillion ready for the 4th, we also erected a permanent flagpole in front of the pavillion courtesy of our lodge. Thanks to all our volunteers for your help. On the 4th of July, even though most of our officers were in Nashville, we helped host the annual 4th of July picnic. Thanks again to all that helped. We managed to sell a few more tickets for our laptop raffle, and we hope to do even better in September for our Labor Day picnic. These tickets are still on sale just see any Moose Legion officer or the bartender.

Folks, we are starting to sell tickets for our annual fishing trip. It will be on September 11, 2010.. I can't think of a better way to celebrate the tragedy that happened on this day, than to have the freedom to be with friends and family on a fishing trip. The boat we will be on is fabulous and if you would like to know more about the boat and the trip, please check out the site on Manchestermoose.com. Our webmaster, Herb Clark, has set up a link that will tell you all you need to know about the boat. Tickets are $50 each, and if we get more than 29, the price will go down to $45. Everyone who pays the 50 will get 5 back. Please see the office for tickets or see Herb Clark. They are starting to sell and we would like to see a good turnout for this event.

Our next MLC workday will be August 14, 9 a.m. til ??? Please come out and support your MLC and there will surely be some nice surprises for all volunteers. The purpose of this workday will be to clean up for our August 28 dance on the Pavillion. The band playing was the 2009 winner of the "battle of the bands" and will be playing some good old southern rock and roll!!! Please come out for a pleasant evening under the stars at Manchester Moose Lodge.

Lastly, since we have erected a flag pole we are looking for donations for an American flag. We also plan to place a state flag, a Moose flag, and a POW-MIA flag, on the three peaks of the facade of the pavillion. Any donations for these flags will be greatly appreciated and will earn a plaque with the donors name and the date.
